This is Kimono #2.  Same pattern but done with different colors.

Not colors I would ever have picked but I definitely love the outcome!  Looks so much better in person though.

So Cute!!

Bargello and Violets

I thought I'd take a break from "chart intensive" projects and stitch something relatively simple.  This should be a nice design when completed - I love the colors.
Off to a good start!  I love working with YLI Ribbon Floss - it's so silky.

Queen Mermaid - Completed

She's finally all stitched and beaded.  Now off to the Framers for the final touch.  You can't really see all the beads from my photo but trust me, they are there!!

Queen Mermaid

Almost done!  I have about 100 more beads to go and then she's done.

Peacock

Just got my Peacock back from the framers.   It's so nice to see it hanging, all nicely framed and most importantly - finished!!  Now on to finish Mirabilia's Queen Mermaid.  Only a few more beads and treasures to go!

Portrait

This is an example of one of my Mom's hooked rugs.

Hooked Rugs

Was visiting Mom and Dad recently and decided to take some pics of their hooked rugs.  Mom used to teach, dye all her own wool etc.  Dad was one of her first students!  I think he did a great job!

Peacock Sweep Necklace

Hello -

I thought I'd put a nicer pic of the Peacock Sweep Necklace up.  It's made entirely of beads (kit from Beaded Patterns) and was fun to do.   But first meet Bramble!  She tries to help me with my beading and stitching.

It's been a while!

Well, I finally have my new computer.  My laptop completely died so I have a lot of catching up to do.  Since I wasn't able to spend so much time on the internet, I was able to stitch a few things.

Deer in the Snow

Lucky Artie was the recipient of this cross stitched piece.  My daughters still haven't forgiven me for giving it away although it couldn't have gone to a nicer person.  Maybe I'll do another one.

But I love stitching Kimonos!

And Christmas for Dad!

That same Christmas I cross stitched this picture of a carousel horse for my Dad who has a passion for carousels.

I remember just finishing this in the nick of time to get it framed for Christmas morning.

E is for Elsie

This is a design on a nice box which I gave to my Mom (Elsie) many years ago for Christmas.  My daughter, Emily, just turned 14 and my Mom gave the box to her for her birthday.  What a nice surprise - to both me and my daughter!

This is a griffin made entirely out of beads - done in square stitch. And a recently finished cross stitch dragon - my other favorite subject besides Peacocks!

I think it's time for me to focus on my Stumpwork sampler - it's almost done. Take a close look at my owl - how cute!
